Hamad International Airport Doha

The gateway to the State of Qatar, Hamad International Airport (DOH) is the ultimate link between the East and the West. The airport was named the World’s Best Airport by the prestigious SKYTRAX World Airport Awards in 2021 and 2022. Towards the end of September, Doha experiences cooler temperatures compared to the summer months, but it is still relatively warm. The average high temperature is around 37°C (98°F), while the average low temperature is around 27°C (81°F). It is usually sunny with clear skies and a gentle breeze, and rain is rare.

Qatar has earned the number one rank for “Safest Country in the World” on the Numbeo Crime Index, for two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022. The country’s capital, Doha, is also ranked the second safest global city in 2022.

Language

Home to around a hundred nationalities, Qatar is a melting pot of cultures with numerous languages being spoken. Being an Arab country, the official language is Arabic, but English is commonly spoken in all public places.

The Qatari riyal is the only currency used in the country and can be obtained through ATMs which are widely available in malls, hotels, and around Doha. The Qatari Riyal (QR) is pegged against the US Dollar at QAR 3.64

 

Electricity

The standard domestic electricity supply in Qatar is 240-volt AC (frequency 50Hz). Qatari power outlets require the type “G” plugs with three square prongs.

 

Transportation

Taxis (Karwa) and ride-hailing services like Uber are widely available in Doha, you can also rent a car or use public transportation like the Doha Metro and Bus services.
